FAMILY RE: VERSE
Jan 24 Matthew 13 Why do we need Family Re:Verse?
Family devotions may seem like a scary endeavor or dreaded responsibility but there are many benefits to centering our homes on Christ. The Scriptures speak often of the privilege Christian parents have in raising their children to know and love God.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
Parents are God’s gift to children. Children’s hearts are impressed when they see from their parents and grandparents that worship is not just something they do on Sunday morning but something that is a daily priority in the home. First Baptist Church is committed to supporting parents as well as grandparents in the awesome responsibility to instill a love for God and His Word in the hearts of their children. The Family Re:Verse will equip parents for this responsibility. It is a tool to draw the family closer to God and each other. And it is strategic in preparing each family member for FBC Sunday worship. The Family Re:Verse targets the family with children from ages 4-10 although it is successfully used with children of all ages. Grandparents also enjoy using the Family Re:Verse with their grandchildren.

The format is a little different this year as we try to equip you with more information and help. As you will see, the scripture has been broken up into three days of reading/discussion along with questions of varying “depth”. While it is written this way, you do not have to utilize the Re:Verse this way! Feel free to use only one day or two days if you cannot fit in all three days. The days are only suggestions.
The bulleted questions start out with easier understanding for preschool kids and gain depth and difficulty as you move down the bullets for older kiddos.
